Ashwini Shenoy made her literary debut in October 2019 with her critically acclaimed novel Shikhandini – Warrior Princess of the Mahabharata, published by Leadstart Publishers, Mumbai. This extraordinary tale, blending history, mythology, and a strong transgender protagonist, captivated readers worldwide. The work has since been adapted for audio (2021) and released in both Tamil (Swasam Publishers, 2024) and Marathi (Dilipraj Publishers, 2026).
Ashwini’s subsequent work includes Gift of Life (Leadstart, 2021), a story of hope and healing set during the pandemic, and In the Golden Mountains (Holistic, 2024) a coming-of-age drama featuring elements of suspense and romance.
Ashwini’s short fiction has appeared in national and international journals, including the Sahitya Akademi journal, Out of Print, Muse India, and Rappahannock Review. In 2022, she partnered with Leadstart and Spotify India to launch Word by Word with Ashwini Shenoy, a podcast offering creative writing insights. She also maintains a versatile freelance blog covering a wide range of literary and cultural topics.
Ashwini lives in Bangalore, where she works as a Technical Lead in the automotive industry. In her free time, she enjoys walking through the city, always on the lookout for characters and conversations for her next novel.
